Perfectible Harmony - in Cosmology

Because one can easily make the case of music and mathematics emerging from the
ordering principle of harmonic sound, we have a ready example of a naturally occurring
qualitative order with experiential and historical grounding that lends plausibility to the idea
of "pure order radiating qualitative energy". Details of the fields of music and math are products
of their development. What I'm interested in here is the qualities that brought on their emergence and
continual development. At a very high level, the practice of music is concerned with quality of beauty while
mathematics are concerned with the quality of truth. The ordering principle of harmonic sound simultaneously
presents us with the absolute measure of a musical interval that yields its peak beauty, but an affirming satisfaction.

Qualitative energy is found in the affirming satisfaction in having attained the qualities of
truth and beauty. It's the kind invigorating rather than pacifying satisfaction that makes one want
to share the "truth and beauty" with others. Qualitative energy is also in the spark of curiosity which
begins a quest for "truth and beauty" and in the dissatifaction one feels in falling short, which can drive
one to continue the quest. Qualitative energy may be foreign to classical physics with kinetic and potential
energies while quantum physics measures its discrete packets of energy as quanta ... but ... qualitative energy
is not foreign to our existence. The disconnect from physics is that qualitative energy is transparent to physicality.

Our awareness of energy conversion and acknowledgement of human will is enough to
give pause to consider the concept of qualitative energy effecting the singularity that exploded
into our cosmos. In a biological lifeform, qualitative energy affects spiritual nature. Accumulated
qualitative energy is converted to physical energy if the will effects qualitative potential into kinetic
pursuit of quality. A slight sense building to a nagging feeling and then emotion strong enough to incur
action is an example of a buildup and conversion of qualitative energy that we've all experienced and may
even manifest itself with regard to this concept. Perhaps you'll sense a hint of truth which nags and nags and
finally demands conscious thought and investigation. Or maybe the beautiful premise of harmony overarching all
of creation and driving evolution - and countering competition for survival - that will evoke a complementary drive.

Whether approaching from the perspective of truth or beauty satisfaction can only be
found in the harmony of truth and beauty. Beauty without truth or truth without beauty is
is not entirely satisfying. Nor is anything short of absolute truth and zenithal beauty. This is
why scientists and artists keep theorizing, experimenting and creating. And this is the crux of
perfectible harmony. That human beings exhibit a love-fueled and love-regulated desire to know
and behold the perfect harmony of truth and beauty shows that we as a species believe there is such
a thing as Perfect Harmony. The term harmony can be applied to just about any relationship. Because
music does not have any ethical or moral dimension, but does have qualitative components which we feel
to be the most beautiful at a very precise and absolute mathematical measure, musical terms are best suited
to describe what a self-perpetuating perichoresis of Perfect Harmony must be: Pure Consonance - No dissonace!

Grasping pure consonance is as difficult as grasping omnipotence, omnipresence
and omniscience. We only really know and appreciate consonance by contrast with
dissonance. Similarly, we only really know and appreciate standing by contrast with
falling down. Walking is a process of falling from and restoring balance. Each step is a
series of movements and shadow movements that can be executed jaggedly as by a toddler
or gracefully as by an adult. The more graceful the movement the more closely it adheres to
the proportionality inherent in the ordering principle of harmonic sound. Gracefulness then, is
consonance gleaned through bodily motion. I digressed into movement to establish that: 1) the
qualitative ordering principle is not limited to sound; and 2) the ordering principle inspires rather
than imposes. Harmony is something to aspire toward and struggle to preserve because it is valued.
